Please stay tuned as the fall supply lists are being created, thank you for your patience.

Kindergarten Supply List
To make it easy for you next year, the school will purchase all of the supplies less a couple of minor items. This is optional but will make it a lot easier for all of us. When your child comes in on the first day of school, all of his/her supplies will be here, you just need to write a check. The cost is $20 per child. Checks payable to Henderson Elementary School. That price includes supplies as well as a Henderson Friday Folder. The school can get everything at a less expensive or comparable price.
We also ask for a backpack that you can purchase yourself. For safety reasons, please do not get a backpack on wheels and make sure that it is big enough for 4 library books and a Friday Folder.
If you choose not to take advantage of this accommodation, a supply list will be provided on the first day of school.
1st Grade Supply List
Dear Families,
In order to make it easier for you next year, the school will be purchasing all of your child’s supplies, except for a backpack. This program is optional; however we have done it for the past several years with an overwhelming positive response. It makes it a lot easier for everyone – you don’t have to run around buying things, and we can ensure that each child is prepared with the same materials.
When your child comes to First Grade Orientation or the first day of school, all of his/her supplies will be here ready to use, and you will just need to write a check. The cost will not be determined until right before school starts, as we will be looking around for the best possible prices on the items we require. The cost has been approximately $20 in the past. We will send home a letter before school starts to let you know the final price. The supplies will include everything your child will need to work in the classroom throughout the year, as well as a Henderson folder to send home papers, and a year-long subscription to a first grade news magazine such as Scholastic News or Weekly Reader. Since we are buying in bulk, the school can get everything at a less expensive or comparable price to what you would find on your own at the store.
We do ask that you purchase a backpack for your child that does NOT have wheels. This causes safety concerns in the classroom as well as in the hallways. The backpack should be large enough to hold a folder and library books.
If you choose not to take advantage of this accommodation, supply lists will be provided to you the first day of school
Enjoy the summer!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Herrell
Mrs. Collins
Miss Martin
